Project: New Police Headquarters & Municipal Court Facility
Size: 60,000 square feet
The project delivery system was a design/construct/maintain/finance arrangement between the City of Cranston and the development team. Designed by Saccoccio & Associates, the new headquarters of the Cranston Police Department provides today’s technology in law enforcement and safety for the City’s 80,000 residents.
The first floor houses the primary operations of the police department including a cell block, evidence lab, roll call and dispatch areas. The second floor features department offices and conference rooms. The spacious new facility also includes two sally ports and storage area for the mobile command vehicle.
A basement garage houses equipment used by the SWAT team, water rescue and diving team, locker rooms, as well as accommodating department vehicle repair. The City’s municipal court facility is adjacent to the main entrance.
